feb 3 - boy where do i even begin...... i'll come back to this!!

dec 4 - i had a good weekend! saturday i participated in a workshop with my mentee. it was fun and a great bonding activity for the both of us. it just reinforced my opinion of her being crazy!! we had to think of ways to make a difference in our community and how would we implement it. she has some very interesting ideas. we made plans to hang out next weekend. i'm taking her holiday shopping so she can pick up some gifts for her family. she has to get her wish list together. i asked her to make a list of 3 things she wants. listed in order of importance.... plus i need to reward somehow for making the honor roll (3.7 gpa). she is such a sweet young lady with simple requests. when we hang out she is content with just renting some videos and eating popcorn at my house. but she did ask to go horseback riding, so i need to check into some stables and try to do this during her holiday break.... 

sunday was a trip... i went up to niagara falls to meet a friend of mines from toronto. some how i forgot that buffalo was playing miami in buffalo yesterday... talk about bills traffic! it seemed like every car/truck/rv i passed had a load of bills fans in it. people were hauling grills, generators, lawn furniture.... talk about a site... too bad the bills lost (hee hee hee) but we women need something like this to bond... men have hunting & sports.... what do we have sistazs?? 

i must have been crazy because it was 15 degrees when i left my warm and comfy cozy bed yesterday... but i must say the trip was worth every bitter cold moment! we had a great time. we had breakfast up there, which i though was going to be a challenge because he is a strict vegetarian. we walked and viewed the falls, it was still beautiful despite the cold. and talked, and talked and talked! it was great! we haven't seen each other in a couple of years, but we made sure we kept in contact via calls and writings. i must say he has always been consistent in that department. his job keeps him on the road 95% of the time and it's hard for him to stay put for any length of time.... so i was truly blessed when his schedule permitted us to finally have this meeting! 

nov 21 - i've been keeping busy... my car is 47 miles short of 100k and it's trying to take all of my money! taking care of house stuff... a friend of mines is SUPPOSED to come and help me paint the kitchen and back hall. we shall see. i'm going to get the paint today and start painting tonight after class. i want to start stripping the woodwork. this will be very tedious, but i want the natural look of the wood. i do have a name of a company that will come in and do this, but some things need to be a labor of love.... even if it takes months to do it!! 

the tree went up thursday/friday.... outside lights are already up. just need to add some more decorations to the porch... i decorate on most holidays :) no i am not martha stewart, but it gives my house a 'homey' feeling to me...... and i want that feeling to convey to friends and family that visit me.... normally for bake goods during the holidays, they know i love to bake in the winter months. 

i've come back in high gear with my exercise routine.... i have an endurance portion that i need to pass for my certification. so i am in the gym 6 days a week again. i need to finish the process for enrolling for classes the next semester. i hope 24 hours in a day will be enough for me....i'm adding a lot to my plate again.... so that's all for now...
